Remove MobileMe Preferences from the Control Panel

With the release of iTunes 7.7 from Apple, a lot of users have noticed a “MobileMe Preferences” icon lurking in their Control Panel. MobileMe is Apple’s $99 a year synchronization service that keeps your information (e-mail, calendars, contacts, bookmarks, and more) synchronized between two or more computers or between your computer and an iPhone or iPod touch. Those of you who are using iTunes and do not own an iPhone or an iPod touch or do not subscribe to the MobileMe service may find this as intruding. This article describes the different ways that you can remove the icon from your Control Panel.
